Thomasville Farmers Market Newsletter
The new market season is off to a wonderful start, and we are so grateful for the incredible support from our community! Each Saturday has been filled with smiling faces, fresh produce, local products, and the kind of connection that makes Thomasville Farmers Market such a special place. From returning weekly shoppers to first-time visitors, thank you for continuing to support local farmers, makers, and small businesses.
This Saturday, we are proud to celebrate Older Americans Month — a tradition established in 1963 to recognize the contributions, wisdom, and lasting impact of older adults in our communities. What began as “Senior Citizens Month” was later renamed Older Americans Month and continues each May as a time to honor the generations who have helped shape our families, neighborhoods, and local traditions.
At Thomasville Farmers Market, we are especially thankful for our senior shoppers, many of whom have supported and participated in local agriculture and our market for years. Your stories, encouragement, and continued support help make the market the welcoming place it is today. As a small token of appreciation, we’ll have a small gift available this Saturday for our seasoned shoppers while supplies last.
We’re also excited to welcome the Master Gardeners to the market this weekend! Whether you have questions about vegetables, flowers, pests, soil, or planting tips, be sure to stop by and chat with them for expert gardening advice.
Don’t forget — Thomasville Farmers Market proudly accepts SNAP/EBT benefits, and through the Double Up Food Bucks program, eligible shoppers can stretch their dollars even further on fresh fruits and vegetables. It’s one more way we’re working to make healthy, local food accessible for everyone in our community.
Be sure to ask about our Eat the Rainbow program, too! This fun and educational program encourages children and families to try a colorful variety of fresh fruits and vegetables while learning about healthy eating habits throughout the season.

Thank you again for making the start of this market season so successful. We look forward to seeing everyone again this Saturday at the market!
See you soon!
