Come Celebrate Ciderday at the Season's Last Market

Join us for our final market of the season this Saturday at Thomasville Farmers Market — it’s Ciderday!

We’re celebrating the close of another great market season with FREE fresh-brewed apple cider for all shoppers. You’ll also find local apples, mums and fresh-popped popcorn for sale, along with all your weekly favorites: farm-fresh produce, handcrafted goods, fresh-cut flowers, local honey, and fresh eggs.

The featured apples this Saturday will be: Winesap, Crimson Crisp, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Rome! Follow this recipe for just one of many ways you can enjoy your locally-sourced apples:

🍎 Warm Baked Cinnamon Apples 🍎
Ingredients (serves 4)

• 4 medium apples

• 1/4 cup brown sugar (or maple syrup)

• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

• 1/4 tsp nutmeg

• 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

• 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces

• Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Core apples, leaving bottoms intact to form a little "cup."

3. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and nuts in a small bowl.

4. Spoon mixture into apple centers.

5. Top each apple with a few small pieces of butter.

6. Place apples in a baking dish with 1/2 cup water in the bottom.

7. Bake 30–40 minutes, until tender but still holding shape.

8. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

We will also be celebrating the children that have participated in our Eat The Rainbow program with some AWESOME prizes this Saturday...so bring those kiddos to the market to receive the recognition they deserve for trying so many new fruits and veggies throughout this market season! We are so proud of these young folks, and have absolutely loved becoming friends with so many wonderful families! You all have made this season so special.

The market managers will have a scarecrow-building area for the kiddos to participate in building "SUNNY", our first-ever market mascot...and we need the help of our youngest market enthusiasts to help bring SUNNY to life!

We will have a cozy Fall backdrop for shoppers to snap some sweet family photos. We always love a good photo op!
